Safety Guidelines for the HoReCa Segment

Storage and Installation

  • Ensure the LPG tanks are installed in well-ventilated, outdoor areas away from direct sunlight, high traffic, or heat sources.
  • Ensure safe distance is maintained from flammable materials, electrical installations, and open flames as per local regulations.
  • Ensure the integrity of the cylinders/tanks installed at site with proper 3rd party certificates.
  • Use soapy water to detect leaks. Never use a flame.
  • Install gas leak detectors in storage and operational areas.
  • Tanks should not exceed 85% capacity to allow for gas expansion.

Foundation and Anchoring

  • Ensure tanks are placed on a sturdy, level foundation to prevent tilting or movement.
  • Ensure the tanks are anchored securely in areas prone to earthquakes or strong winds.

Classified Equipment

  • Use only area classified electric equipment within a safe distance to avoid fire or explosion hazard.
  • Source of Ignition, Fan Exhaust / non-explosion-proof electrical equipment must not be within 10 ft of the cylinders.
  • Ensure the installation is at least 33 ft away from (the vertical plane beneath) the High-Voltage lines.

Signage

  • Display clear warning signs like “No Smoking” and “Flammable Gas” near the tanks.
  • Check for dents, rust, or damage to tanks and valves.
  • Ensure valves, pipes, and regulators are in good condition and free of leaks.
